Having a read through the MoneyGram Online Privacy Statement it’s interesting to see quite how far an MoneyGram need to go to make sure their clients are comfortable with the privacy of their transfers.
Privacy in MoneyGram is quite obviously a big thing as it should be for all online sites who hold users data. This is especially important when you’re transferring money or dealing with people’s credit card or personal bank account details online.
There have been numerous occassions where websites have been hacked and private details exposed. These situations tend to get thrown around in the media a lot and leave some people being very cautious about who they will pass their bank account details or personal credit card numbers to.

We want to ensure you are aware of our practices for collecting and processing personal information, which is information about a person that can be used to identify that person.

Good on them for being very clear about the fact that they do retain information from any part of your visit to their website.
Companies like MoneyGram need this level of openness to be clear with the customers what their data is being used for and when it is being collected and maintained in a database.
I would urge you to always read the privacy policy of any online money transfer site that you’re thinking about using. If you’re ever in doubt about what it is they’ve written then question them directly on it through their help system.
Remember, it’s your details and your responsibility for making sure the company you’re putting your trust in is a reputable one.
