Having a read through the Global Giving section of the corporate profile that MoneyGram Online provide to display what they are giving back to communities for all of the profits that they receive from transferring money globally is quite interesting.
They push quite hard to say that they provide more than $500,000 in annual grants to non-profit organisations through the world. They also commit to funding relief of fees during times of disaster.
During 2011 the global giving fund that Moneygram have been promoting has donated $25,000 to the American Red Cross for all of the different relief efforts in Japan following the earthquake and tsunami there earlier in the year.
When you have a look at some of the good things they’re doing online it’s easy enough to feel like they really are reaching out to the wider community and offering to support people where they can with the global giving that they’re contributing.
Generally here on OMT it can be hard to find something nice to say about the money transfer companies that we write about as there are so many reviews that we receive from people (e.g. see other Moneygram Reviews) however on the page I’m reading at the moment it really does seem like Moneygram are doing their best to provide the community with relief and support when something goes really wrong.
What do you think?
